Do you ever feel like the world is against you? Do you ever get that feeling of, "why can't I be like that," or, "why am I not good enough?" I've had this issue for years. That feeling of always being nervous, on edge... Guess what? There is a cure! No, not pills. This is a type of medicine, but not consumed orally.
It's called: Exercising, Meditating and Eating Healthy! This is what I do daily.
Here are 5 tips on how to get rid of those anxious feelings. They actually work!
If you know me, Yoga has changed my life. Not only physically but mentally as well. I've had a blessed life. Great parents, wonderful support systems, and to be honest i've been spoiled. Does that mean that I can't have anxiety? When I was 15 years old, my parents had a mutual divorce. I found out that I was also moving across the country with my mom to move in with a strange man I never knew much about. Ended up that I was again blessed with a "new father" until he wasn't. They split up and went their separate ways. Moving away on my own was the best decision of my life, but ever since then I've struggled with anxiety. Since starting yoga, my mind has been clear, and i've become so strong. Mentally and physically! It's a beautiful practice, and it inspires me to be my best self everyday.
I know I know, running is not for everyone. But even a mile a day will release endorphins which make you feel HAPPY! What more could you ask for? Take it day by day. I started running when I was pretty young, but always raced. Did you know, 6 miles is 6 miles? Whether you sprint it, or jog it, or even walk it! Take it slow, and take it easy. The last thing you need is to get an injury to cause MORE anxiety! Enjoy the brisk breeze in the morning air and love your life.
This is often confused with yoga. Yoga is the practice of stretching and flexibility. Meditating is the practice of breathing, and focusing on your mind, body and soul. Sit in a quiet location, close your eyes, and breathe. Preferably 8 counts in and out from your nose. I'm not going to lie, I went to therapy. It didn't work for me. But meditating did. Everyone has their niche when it comes to relaxing! Do something about your anxious feelings. Make your bed and lay on top of it. Breathe.
4. Pamper Yourself
Even if you don't have a lot of money to spend on yourself, get your butt to Sephora and treat yourself to one of their hydrating masks. It feels so good. The feeling may only be temporary, but it will make you realize that you DESERVE this. You deserve to feel like a princess!
5. Put some makeup on
According to my analytics, most of my viewers are women, so I'm sorry if you're a dude reading this! But even if you're not into makeup, try a different foundation, and put on some bright eye shadow. Even if it looks absolutely terrible! Look at yourself in the mirror and laugh. Laughing is an amazing tactic to helping your anxiety, so what better way to do so by putting on a ridiculous amount of makeup and making fun of yourself? It's FUN!
Don't get yourself down. Be sure to recognize that you are important. That you ARE beautiful and that you are making a change in this world whether you know it now or not. Stay true to your beliefs and values, and smile :).
I hope today's post helped a little bit. Maybe brightened your day.
I love you guys!
Until next time,
