It's Monday. What does that mean to you? To me, it's a fresh start, and a time to reflect on what you're putting into your body! Not sure what to eat for breakast? On today's post I show you and explain how EASY it is to eat healthy in the morning!
1. Eat a lot of fruit.
Fruit is the epitome of a great diet! Although there can be a lot of sugar in a strawberry, it is easily broken down and digested quick! There are so many antioxidants in fruit. In every picture you see in today's post, there is at least some kind of fruit. It's satisfies my sweet tooth and gives me the proper nutrition to begin and end my day! I like to create my own Acai bowls. It reminds me of a tropical destination, and tastes delicious! Because I am lactose intolerant, I use dairy free yogurt but you can obviously use regular if you desire. I love the strawberry yogurt with a handful of granola sprinkled on top of thin slices of strawberries and a banana! BOOM! :)
2. Avocado Avocado AVOCADO!
Avocado is literally a food I eat every single day! It's an extremely healthy "fat". I put parenthesis around fat because people are SO scared to get near healthy fats. Did you know these are essential for a healthy body on the inside and the outside? In the end, Avocado can even prevent heart attacks! Add one half of an avocado on a piece of toast. You don't even need butter! It tastes amazing. I also like to add a bit more color to my plate so I usually add some type of berry, or even a banana. I also love to add a bit of garlic salt on the top of my avocado sandwich, or even a piece of smoked salmon! I believe that the more color there is on a plate, the healthier it is, AND the tastier it is. I'm all about mixing different flavors that seem unusual to a lot of people. I think it adds a bit more fun to your daily diet. If you eat the same thing daily, it will get boring, and it will make you want to just dive into the sugary cereal, or the unhealthy muffins that you can grab from your local Costco! Take the time in the morning, and even take a picture of your master piece! It will enhance the experience.
3. English Muffins & Oatmeal
English Muffins & Oatmeal are definitely my go-to breakfast foods for most of the week. I love to add peanut butter on the english muffin with one banana, or even just a bit of honey! I just bought a bottle of almond butter from Trader Joes, and it's life changing! It's a bit lower in fat than peanut butter, and tastes a bit different. I also love oatmeal with a table spoon of brown sugar and yet again, a banana! It's easy and delicious. Several people I know dislike the taste of bananas. For the texture probably, but I find that when I cut it up into smaller pieces, it has a completely different texture, but that might just be me...
Over all, I know these are just three little breakfast ideas that you probably could have thought about yourself, but I get asked what I eat for breakfast a lot, because for several people it's hard to eat breakfast before a long day at work. Remember to think bright colors, healthy fats, and protein! If you eat breakfast, it will help your metabolism throughout the day, which helps with weight loss. Try this for a few weeks and let me know your results :).
Until next time,
