Welcome back to my blog series all about my journey of running 433 days in a row! Today I am going to be talking about my day 2 & 3 runs and keeping it pretty short.
I know the last post was pretty lengthy, so I thought i'd get to the point and chat about how my runs went in the last two days!
On February 7th, I found that running before a tough spin class wasn't the best idea. I woke up at 5:30 AM and brought myself to the gym to do a relaxing yoga class, to find that I was tighter than expected. Being a runner, the hip flexers are NOT my favorite things in the world. That being said, Yoga is definitely something I am going to add to my weekly routine.
Throughout the day, I knew I had to get my run in, but I knew I wanted to do spin also! 4:30 PM rolled around and my friend Lindsay and I decided running 4 miles isn't a big deal. We also think we're some type of super heroes, and we all know that just isn't true...
5:00 came fast after our 4 mile run at an 8:37 pace. Let's just say I am SO happy we went at a slower pace. We decided, oh why not lift some weights? We did some planks, and weight lifting for 20 minutes before the grueling spin class.
Knowing that this particular spin class is tough, we thought we'd be okay... Little did we know that the instructor had different plans for us that night. We killed the work out, but it also killed us...
Knocking out at 9 PM is normal for me... but not at 8 PM!
6:45 AM came quick this morning. I thought I wanted to head to the gym on this rainy morning to get a quick mile run done on the treadmill on my "day off." Even though it was raining, the brisk wind and gentle rain drops felt amazing on my sore body. I wanted to go 3 miles.. but instead went 4. I felt pretty slow, but ended up holding a pretty decent pace.
Today was a great "day off." I'm glad I took time to stretch and roll out instead of killing myself with weights.
Day 4 is tomorrow, and I haven't felt stronger!
Talk to you soon,
